WHIZ COMICS #33 Facsimile Edition

This issue features a rare cross-over on both the cover and the story inside, featuring Captain Marvel and Spy Smasher together in a 24-page story. Also: a special appearance of Doctor Voodoo; Lance O'Casey drawn by Harry Anderson; Ibis and Green Arrow stories with art attributed to Al Carreno. Golden Arrow wins "The Race of Death;" Lance O'Casey finds the Golden Buddha; Dr. Voodoo "Meets the Murderous Vampire" and in the Ibis story, "The Huns Ride Forth" straight out of the middle ages! Printing on this issue is not up to standards; the copy they used as a source had some color registration problems. It's acceptable, but not great, although the cover is perfectly fine. With a single word -- Shazam! -- young Billy Batson transforms from an ordinary newsboy into the mighty superhero, wielding extraordinary powers to protect the innocent and thwart evil schemes. Ray Harford draws the CM/Spy Smasher story. New squarebound format, an impressive 64-page issue.
