Description
First introduced as ‘Dan Brand and Tipi’ in Magazine Enterprises' Charles Starret as the Durango Kid issue #1 from October/November 1949 – the White Indian was created by Frank Frazetta and Ray Krank. The series followed Brand as he hunted for the man who killed his fiancée Lucy on their wedding day, pursuing him westward after laying her to rest. But calamity struck when Brand was attacked and mortally wounded by a bear. Found by Great Eagle and son Tipi of the Catawbas tribe, brand takes refuge with the tribe and learns their ways. A year later, the man who killed Lucy returns... selling guns and rum to the Catawbas’ rival tribes. But Dan... now known as the "White Indian" is ready to claim justice. But at what cost? The early comics work of Frank Frazetta already shows his eye for kinetically charged action and realism that would fuel his future works. These classic frontier adventures are not to be missed! ~Marty
