WENDLING Drawers

This beautifully illustrated art book is full of sketches, comic work, and animation studies. French comic artist Claire Wendling is incredibly talented in a variety of styles, from cute to tough-as-nails. What she can do with a simple pencil will blow your mind. In 1989, while still in the School of Fine Arts of Angoulême, Wendling won the "Artist of the Future" prize at the Angoulême International Comics Festival and participated in two anthologies published by Delcourt, The Children of the Nile and Entrechats. In 1990 she began her series Les Lumières de l'Amalou (The lights of Amalou), written by Christophe Gibelin, which won the Press Award at Angoulême. Wendling was hired by Warners studio in 1997 and moved to Los Angeles to participate in various projects including The Quest for Camelot. After eight months she returned to France and published Desk, a book of sketches made in Los Angeles. In 2000, she did graphic design work for the video game Alone in the Dark IV. Text in French.
