Master artist Lou Cameron, who at his best compares with Frank Frazetta, is here in every single issue. It's also a tribute to these issues that several of the stories have been reprinted in numerous collections of the best stories from the fifties. Other contributors include Louis Zansky (several stories), Rocke Mastroserio (several stories, inking Lou Cameron), Jim McLaughlin (another fine but under-rated artist, on several stories), Bill Molno (two stories), Chic Stone (yes, two stories by Marvel's inker for Jack Kirby and others) and Ken Rice. Lou Cameron is best known for his Classics Illustrated editions of The Time Machine, Journey to the Center of the Earth, The Black Arrow, Davy Crockett and Crime and Punishment. He also worked for Atlas and St. John in the fifties, and was the subject of a fascinating interview in Alter Ego a few years ago. He also does at least two covers here, one of which is the classic "spider-web" scene, featured on the cover of this collection.
