Joe Simon and Jack Kirby entered the comic book field separately, but when their talents came together, they became synonymous with innovative storytelling, powerful artwork and hit characters. They created some of the 1940s' most enduring creations, first at Timely and later at DC. Here is their entire Timely output--all the material they contributed to from: Captain America #1-10, Marvel Mystery (the Vision) #12-25, USA #1--3, Human Torch #2, Young Allies #1; Mystic Comics #7, All Winners #1-2, Daring Mystery #1-3, 6-8, and finally, the incredibly rare Red Raven #1. As you know, Simon and Kirby were THE powerhouse innovators of the 1940s and early 1950s; then the partnership dissolved, and Kirby went on to work with Stan Lee and create the Marvel Age of heroes. But here is the beginning, not just Capt. America, but the first kid gang, The Young Allies, and a whole host of oddball, interesting heroes they were churning out. Joe Simon was editor in chief at Timely at this point, and his imprint was heavy on all the Marvel books. And Kirby was the prize of the litter--along with Bill Everett, he was the most accomplished creator at Timely during these early years. Subsequently they left Timely and began innovating at DC...but that is another story. Here's all that great, early work.
