Description

In 1955, Puck, The Comic Weekly, consulted the Advertising Research Foundation to look beyond indices of behavior, such as measures of comic readership or Sunday newspaper circulation, and explore the real meanings of Sunday comics. Additionally, the purpose of the study was to analyze the social and psychological impact of Sunday comic strips on their audiences, investigating how these narratives and characters influence readers' attitudes, perceptions, and behaviors. The study aimed to explore the implications for advertising, particularly how understanding the audience’s engagement with comics can enhance marketing strategies and effectiveness within the comics' context. This involves finding out why people read the Sunday comics. Broadly speaking, it means coming to grips with the kinds of satisfactions people seek from the Sunday comics and the personal and social dynamics of comic reading. This is a original 1956 limited print with a copy # C-124. Text only. Out of Print. Condition: Very Good. Book cover has age related fading and yellowing to the pages. No dustjacket.
