Description
The Little Lulu Library is an encyclopedic compendium of the very best in comics. All stories are reproduced larger than comic book size, sharp and clear, from the original proofs and most are printed in black and white as the artists drew them. The front covers to the original comics and some special "extras" are reproduced in stunning full color! This is set six, containing books #16-18, issues #68-87. The Little Lulu Library was a six volume, 18-book deluxe hardcover series of books reprinting a long run of Little Lulu comics from the period when John Stanley was writing the stories, and including the first issues that he also drew. Most of the stories collected were drawn by either Stanley or Irving Tripp. This series was published by Another Rainbow Publishing between 1985 and 1992. Each set contains background articles on the artists, essays, and previously unpublished art. These were published in REVERSE order, from six to one, and where the print run started at 7000 sets, by set 1 it was only 3000 (see full details in John Stanley: Giving Life to Little Lulu). Volume 16 has a tipped in bookplate #252 of 500, and is signed by John Stanley and Marjorie Henderson Buell. Out of Print. Condition: Fine Plus. Set has minor wear the edges of the slipcase. Books have slight spine wear, otherwise as new.
