Donald Duck Adventures in Color was a series of magazine-sized comic reprints published by Gladstone Publishing that featured stories by Carl Barks, the creator of many classic Donald Duck comics. These publications provided excellent reproductions and coloring of Barks' original stories.

Volume 17: Dangerous Disguise - Donald and his nephews get entangled in a spy ring during a European vacation. In a separate adventure, when Uncle Scrooge loses valuable documents in a jungle, he sends Donald to retrieve them, only to have Gladstone Gander attempt to steal the credit.

Volume 18: Vacation Time - While on a wilderness vacation, Donald attempts to photograph a buck; he and the nephews survive a forest fire caused by a careless camper; reprinted from Walt Disney's Vacation Parade (Dell, 1950 series) #1.  Donald acts as camp counselor to the nephews scout troop; reprinted from Walt Disney's Vacation Parade (Dell, 1950 series) #1.

Volume 19: In Old California - Donald and the nephews travel back in time to Old California; reprinted from Four Color (Dell, 1942 series) #328. A Christmas for Shacktown, script and art by Carl Barks; The nephews raise money for Christmas for the needy children of Shacktown; reprinted from Four Color (Dell, 1942 series) #367.

Volume 20: The Golden Helmet - In the featured story, Donald and his nephews race against nefarious characters to secure a Viking helmet that grants the owner rights to North America. Also included is The Gilded Man, in which the ducks encounter a living totem during a stamp hunting trip in British Guiana.

Volume 21: Trick or Treat - A Halloween-themed volume featuring the nephews enlisting the help of a witch to get treats from a cantankerous Donald. Other featured tales include more adventures with Gyro Gearloose.

Volume 22: Secret of Hondorica - Uncle Scrooge dispatches Donald and the nephews to Hondorica to recover lost deeds to oil wells; reprinted from Donald Duck (Dell, 1952 series) #46. Barks' Borrowings article by Geoffrey Blum; An analysis of Barks' reworking of earlier gags and stories. The Lost Peg Leg Mine, script and art by Carl Barks; Uncle Scrooge, Donald, and the nephews search for a lost gold mine; reprinted from Donald Duck (Dell, 1952 series) #52.

Volume 23: Christmas in Duckburg - Donald and the nephews battle the Beagle Boys to bring a 100-foot Christmas tree from Canada to Duckburg; reprinted from Walt Disney's Christmas Parade (Dell, 1949 series) #9.

Volume 24: Donald Duck and the Titanic Ants - A Duckburg scientist's enlarged ants disrupt the Billionaires' Picnic; reprinted from Donald Duck (Dell, 1952 series) #60. Water Ski Race, script and art by Carl Barks; Donald competes in a water skiing contest; reprinted from Donald Duck (Dell, 1952 series) #60.

Volume 25: Numerous one-page stories with scripts and art by Carl Barks. If the Hat Fits; Donald tries on many hats and buys a huge sombrero.
