Description

The portfolio of art contained in this envelope reproduces sixty-three covers from the Carl Barks' Library of Walt Disney's Donald Duck, Set VIll, which originally appeared in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories during 1948-1954, issues 95-166. One third of these covers appear in a large format for the first time, beautifully recolored by another Rainbow staff artist. Bill Pearson. Every effort has been made to recreate these selected covers in the way they might have looked if Carl Barks or the original artist had done his own coloring. Barks did not do all the covers from this period, and four have been chosen for the large format that were drawn by Walt Kelly. All twenty-four plates in this portfolio have been trimmed to include the entire covers as originally drawn. Forty-two smaller full color covers are reproduced in pairs on the reverse of twenty one of the prints, along with indexes to the covers and the stories that accompany each one. The other full page reproduces the only Barks money bin oil painting- Who's Out There? " to appear as a miniature (plate 124) in the "Fine Art of Walt Disney's Donald Duck". Out Of Print. Condition.Very Fine. Plates.Very Good. Portfolio Envelope. Yellowing edges and a few brown specks.
