This book was published in honor their July 9, 1978 exhibition "The Maryland Funnybook Festival, Silver Spring, Maryland. This is a super unique piece of art history that can certainly be enjoyed by art connoisseurs, Star Trek fans, Lord of the Ring fans, comic fans, and collectors alike.

Tim and Greg Hildebrandt were twin brothers born in Detroit, Michigan on January 23, 1939. They began professionally painting in 1959 in aspirations to someday work for Disney's animation department. The brothers worked side by side until 1981 when they decided to pursue separate art careers. Fast forward 12 years later, the brother reunited to do many different works for Marvel Comics, Stan Lee, and other books.
Tim won the 1992 World Fantasy Award for Best Artist. In 2010 Greg Hildebrandt received the Chesley Award for Lifetime Artistic Achievement from the Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists. Together, the brothers were awarded the Gold Medal by the Society of Illustrators.
