Description
Blue Beetle was revived in the 60s by Charlton and Steve Ditko first, and later by DC Comics. But here we find the original Golden Age creation, who had a long tenure in his own title as well as Wonderworld Comics. Fox Publications had many top talents in their earliest comics -- #1 features a Lou Fine cover and multiple stories by Will Eisner (Yarko the Magician) and Bob Powell. Joe Simon drew the cover of #3, just before partnering up with Jack Kirby! With dynamic visuals and a narrative that captures the spirit of a bygone era...the roots of superhero storytelling, where it all began! #1 features an entirely new 13-page origin story, plus five Blue Beetle stories reprinted from Wonderworld Comics #1-5. Also here is Will Eisner and Bob Powell's magician hero Yarko, in four stories, reprinted from Wonderworld Comics #2-5. #2 begins with more new stories and only a couple reprints. Louis Cazeneuve may have some work here. Cover by Joe Simon. In #3, Joe Simon again contributes a very rare cover, from just before he partnered up with Jack Kirby. Inside, we find our superhero in TWO 31-page stories, a rare departure from 8 to 12 pagers. Creators are Pierce Rice and Louis Cazeneuve again on one story, and Charles Nicholas does all the work on the first story.
