Some story strips included are: The Wedding: Daisy realizes that because Abner's comic strip hero Fearless Fosdick avoids marriage, so will Abner. She convinces comic strip creator Lester Gooch to have Fosdick get married and this finally convinces Abner to go through with marrying Daisy Mae. Subsequently, Gooch writes the marriage out of the strip and Abner thinks that means he's not married either, but is quickly taught otherwise. Ketch a Critic by th' Toe: As Sadie Hawkins day nears, Tiny becomes a performer with pianist Loverboynik. The Scraggs see the attention the pianist receives and force surgeon Moosehead to change one of their faces into Loverboynik's. The disguised Scragg is caught by Boyless Bailey on Sadie Hawkins day and marries him, but when he's revealed as a Scragg, the marriage is annulled as Scraggs had been declared "legally, inhooomin by an act o' congress." The Descent and Rise of Edward R. Mushroom: After Dogpatch's crops are destroyed Abner ventures underground to harvest mushrooms but is buried alive. By the time he returns, he's eaten so many mushrooms that he's both fat and amnesiac. Edward R. Mushroom marries the widow Daisy Mae but eventually recovers his memory (and figure). Out of Print.
