This fascinating insider's history follows one of animation's legendary figures, Shamus Culhane. Culhane's career went from errand boy to director of animation and offers a unique education in animation techniques and the creative process. He joined the business in 1924 at the age of fifteen and spent over fifty years amidst the brightest and the best the animation studios such as Max Fleischer, Ub Iwerks, Walt Disney, and Walter Lantz. During that time, he worked on some of Hollywood's greatest creations: Koko the Clown, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Betty Boop, Popeye, Woody Woodpecker, and the Seven Dwarfs... to name just a few. He has animated Pluto, his favorite character, since 1936, and is considered to be an expert at creating the big-hearted, dim-witted hound's antics. Out of Print. Condition: Fine Minus.
