SWORDSMEN AND SAURIANS Signed & Limited Deluxe with Drawing

Introduction by William Stout. This is subtitled From the Mesozoic to Barsoom, and is a profusely illustrated book showing all facets of Krenkel's astounding art. The chapter headings are Saurians; Early Mammals; Sabertooth Cats; Cavemen; Conan and the Three Kings; Swordsmen; Tarzan; Burroughs and Pellucidar; Barsoom; Science Fiction. This is the spectacular signed limited edition in white cloth, gilt titled spine, color cover, double-page illustrated endpapers, in a matching white cloth slipcase with gilt titled spine and gilt initials front and back. The drawing by Krenkel is on a special tipped in page and embossed with his stamp (he'd passed away before this book was published). Each drawing is unique; this one is in blue pen, measures about 3 1/2" x 5". It's a barbarian, crouching, with a bow and arrows slung across his back. This is one of my very favorite Roy Krenkel books. In fact, I have two in my collection since the drawings are all different. We sold this when it originally was published and I kept one. Then I picked up a collection with another copy in it and I liked the drawing so much, I went overboard and kept that one also. With only 175, it does not come up often for sale. Out of Print.
