Alex Schomberg's airbrush covers make this short run of covers highly collectible. Inside is a nicely drawn Tygra, a scantily-clad jungle girl, probably drawn by Ralph Mayo; Catman artist Charles Quinlan in the pirate Sea Eagle; a superbly drawn Lance Lewis, sci-fi/space hero by Raphael Astarita; a Tygra text story, a teen strip and a humor strip. All-in-all, a very well drawn, top-tier issue! Schomberg often signed these beautiful airbrush covers "Xela." He of course is even better known for his dozens of amazing covers for Timely, on Marvel Mystery, The Human Torch, Sub-Mariner and in fact, most of Timely's early Golden Age titles. This facsimile comic book is reprinted to match the quality when first produced in 1948, reprinting Pine Comics' Startling Comics complete with all ads and every page.
