Written by John Erskine and beautifully illustrated by Edmund Dulac, these were originally published in The American Weekly and have been expertly collected into a single volume by Albert Seligman. This popular newspaper supplement thrived until 1966, but was at its peak in the 30s and 40s. It commissioned Dulac, as well as Flagg, Finlay, Vargas and others to create eye-catching covers and wonderfully illustrated stories. Here are some of the best, never before collected.
