Fleeing a Soviet submarine and corrupt local officials, Steve and Happy Easter are aided by a native woman infatuated with Steve. #6: from Sept. 12, 1948 to Feb. 9, 1949. Steve and Happy Easter travel from a tropical plantation to a Burmese seaport, aided by the plantation owner's son. But a thief on the run from the police spells trouble for the group once again. #7: Collects from Feb. 9 to May 18, 1949. Steve takes a job flying supplies to one of Copper Calhoon's refineries in China. But Chinese rebels are fighting in the same area, leading Reed to try his hand at diplomacy. #8: Collects from May 19 to Oct. 9, 1949. An eccentric millionaire recruits Steve to aid rebels battling the Communists in China. But a romance with the millionaire's secretary complicates things, especially when she reveals her mysterious secret. #9: Collects from October 10, 1949 to February 18, 1950. This issue features a profile of the influential early cartoonist Billy Ireland and an article on the connection between the St. Louis Browns baseball team and Steve Canyon. W.A. Also featuring Scorchy Smith. Steve investigates possible Soviet incursions into Alaska; Scorchy Smith investigates the murder of Ann Trelling's father. Out of print. Condition: Fine.
