Reed Crandall was called up and had to leave the strip during the war; here he has just one story. Alex Kotzy (Apartment 3-G) and John Cassone stepped in and did a fine job on the Blackhawk stories. All the other artists mentioned continued to work on their respecteve back-up strips.
