Set of 15. Mad Magazine #302, #303, #316, #327, #338, #418-419, #442, #507, #540, plus, MAD XL #16-17, Mad Spoofs Horror (2017), Mad Spoofs Star Wars (2021) & Hollywood Goes Mad #2 (2018). Mad was launched in 1952 by EC Comics. The first 23 issues were comic size. With issue #24 it grew to magazine size, mainly to avoid the Comics Code Authority. Mad published satire on all aspects of life and popular culture, politics, entertainment, and public figures. Its format includes TV and movie parodies, and satire articles about everyday occurrences that are changed to seem humorous. Mad's mascot, Alfred E. Neuman is usually on the cover, with his face replacing that of a celebrity or character who is being lampooned. Out of Print. Condition: Fine Plus. Light cover & edge wear. Lightly bumped corners. Fine Minus. #327 has spine cracks and some light fading. #418 has spine cracks, tears on back cover and the book is slightly miscut. #419 has spine cracks scuffing and stain at top front. #442 has spine crack& corner tears. #540 has spine cracks & tear at top of Front cover near spine. Mad XL's have corner bumps with creases throughout.
