Description
Enki Bilal has been drawing comics since the '70s, and by the '80s he was already a celebrated star. Here are almost 300 individual illustrations and sketches of various size, including the cover photos of previously published book projects, additional illustrations, variants, page layouts of his comics and illustrations for magazine publications. All pages of his portfolio "Die Mauer Berlin" from 1982 were printed, as were drawings and edited photos for his films Bunker Palace Hotel (1989) and Tykho Moon (1996). This fascinating book follows Bilal's graphic development from inked b/w pages with lots of cross-hatching to color works that integrated chalk for the first time to his more painterly works. Bilal's individual style is highly distinctive and unique in the world of illustration. Text in French. Out of Print. Condition: Fine. Minor scratching and scuffing on the front cover.
