Alix accepted the mission to return Oribal to his kingdom occupied by the Parthians. In the treasure that the sovereign brings back to his country, there is the very emblem of his legitimacy, the tiara of Oribal I. Only those sovereigns who manage to wear the tiara without failing are worthy of reigning. But during an ambush, the treasure is stolen... and the tiara disappears. Will Oribal manage to return to the throne? Will he be recognized as a legitimate sovereign? Until 1948, Jacques Martin alternated realistic series with humorous series. The first story to follow, drawn for Bravo is Lamar, the invisible man who is very similar to Flash Gordon whose adventures also appeared in the weekly. In the process, he created Oeil de Perdrix, a new hero whose first adventure, The Secret of the Calumet, was directly published as an album. Around the same time, he signed yet another humorous series, the first story of which was entitled The Gray Owl and which was pre-published simultaneously in two Belgian daily newspapers. Reprinted the following year in a weekly (Story), he gave it a sequel, The Seven of Clubs which can be considered as a first draft of what The Great Threat will be. Out of Print. Condition: Very Fine.
