The rich illustrative material offers a new panorama of works by numerous artists, from the most celebrated ones such as Gustav Klimt, Koloman Moser, Carl Otto Czeschka and Berthold Löffler, to the lesser known or forgotten ones such as Julius Klinger, Mila von Luttich or Gottlieb von Kempf .

Giovanni Fanelli was born in Florence in 1936. He is professor of 'history of architecture' at the University of Florence, author of numerous works on urban history, history of architecture, history and of modern graphics.
