Description

Kid Eternity, published by Quality Comics and created by writer Otto Binder and artist Sheldon Moldoff, first appeared in Hit Comics #25 in December 1942. Kid Eternity was killed by Nazis during World War II but reaching the afterlife, it's revealed that his death was a clerical error; he was supposed to live for 75 more years. To compensate for this mistake, a mystical figure known as the Keeper grants the boy powers to return to Earth and fight evil throughout Earth history. He's given power to summon historical, fictional and mythological figures to aid him in his quests against evil. Hawkeye from Last of the Mohicans, Long John Silver from Treasure Island, Viking Leif Ericson, Vulcan, Achilles, Hippocrates, Rembrandt, Siegfried, Paul Revere -- these are just a few of the characters whom the Kid summons up in his endless battles! This was another Quality character who not only starred as the lead feature in Hit Comics, but got his own title for 18 issues, from 1946-49. Al Stahl did the comedy relief backup feature Snap Shotz, about the misadventures of a diminutive crime photographer. Additional artists include Al Bryant, Al Stahl, and Pete Riss. The cover of issue #3 is by Mac Raboy!
