A Wild West special begins with the history of the western pulp art, both covers and inside, featuring luminaries Norman Saunders and Allen Anderson. Then we are treated to a major, lengthy examination of EC & Cracked master John Severin, one of the very finest artists ever to draw authentic western adventure in comics. Here too is Fred Harman (Red Ryder) who was a western character himself, with a long, successful career. And more, in an excellent and unusual issue. The pulps art section is packed with work by Robert Fuqua, Sam Cherry, Syd Shores, Warren Kremer, Ernest Chiriacka, Robert C. Harris, George Gross, Robert Stanley, Walter Baumhofer and others.
