ILLUSTRATION MAGAZINE #62

Illustration Magazine #62 features the work of Ron Lesser (on the cover), best known for his fabulous femme fatales as featured in numerous movie posters, as well as noir book covers during the 50s and 60s, movie posters for High Plains Drifter and Pat Garett & Billy the Kid, right up to Hard Case Crime paperback covers today. Second feature is an amazing 69-pages "Messengers of War," which showcases major artists and their work during the two World Wars. Among them are N.C. Wyeth, Harvey Dunn, Nell Brinkley, J.C. Leyendecker, Harrison Fisher, Winsor McCay and several new to us. Messengers of War includes a major N.C. Wyeth (shown here) that we've never seen before. We also like the work of William H. Walker (2) from the 19-teens. Arthur William Brown, Jesse Willcox Smith, Dan Sayre Groesbeck, Charles Livingston Bull, James Montgomery Flagg (several), Charles Dana Gibson (several) and many others over the course of this feature, with many full page reproductions--in color, of course. Condition: Fine Plus. Light corner bumps. Very mild cover and edge wear.
