It's Jon Sable, the best bounty hunter/secret agent in the world, and his "alter ego" B.B. Flemm, popular children's book author. Intrigue, espionage, and good ol' fashioned punch 'em in the mouth action abound in this vintage series by noted Jack of all trades, Mike Grell. #1: "The Iron Monster!" When a conspiracy to kill then President, Ronald Reagan, transpires, Ronnie himself takes matters into his own hands and hires Jon Sable. Turns out, the hired assassin is an old war buddy of Sable's who is every bit as good as he is. Will Sable be able to save the leader of the free world in time, or will it be bedtime for Bonzo? #6: Sable becomes a writer, moves to New York and starts his own freelance mercenary work in A Deadly Shade of Violent, part four of a four-part story. #11 & 12: Sable meets his match while on a job to protect diamonds in The Cat. Sable tries to help a friend whose son who was declared missing in action during the Vietnam War in "M.I.A." #14-19: Sable travels to East Berlin to try to rescue a ballet dancer's wife in The Wall also has a one-page text feature The Origins of Independent Comics – Part 4. #15: Sable joins an expedition that may have a clue to the location of the tomb of Christ in Green Hell. #16: Sable's nemesis from issue #11 returns and convinces him to join her in stealing a secret formula in The Return of the Cat. #17: The ballet dancer that Sable helped in issue #14 is killed and now Sable must protect and help his wife in Deadly Games - Part 1. #18: After recovering from his injuries, Sable travels to the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles to help the ballet dancer's wife in Deadly Games – Part 2. #19: Sable becomes the hunted when he returns to Africa to visit his past in Prey. #22: Still recuperating, Sable visits with friends, works on his writing and decides to take an assassination contract with the Central Intelligence Agency in The Contract.
