Description
Six facsimile editions of classic Avon issues in one premium slipcase, not available individually! Issue #12 features the cover and new 25-page Dracula story from the novel, by Gene Fawcette and Vince Alascia. Packed with bone-chilling tales of the supernatural and horror, from reanimated corpses to demons and monsters and sci fi, classic pre-code work! Avon's Eerie ran for an impressive 17 issues, throughout the pre-code horror period. Headlights and good girl art, a la Wood and others. Artists Harry Lazarus, Norman Nodel, A.C. Hollingsworth, Vince Alascia, Lous Ravielli and Manny Stallman replace Wood and Orlando, who moved over to EC Comics around this time. Everett Raymond Kinstler returns for a cover to #16, but except for new covers on all issues, all the inside material of issues 15-17 reprints Wood/Orlando and Kubert work from the earlier issues. PS initiated this new slipcased facsimile format with This Magazine is Haunted (available now). This offers the facsimile issues, which if available individually would cost $15.99 each, in a handsome slipcase for about the same prices as the individual issues would add up to. So far they have not offered these issues individually, but time will tell.
