DICK TRACY Dailies & Sundays 1931-1933 VOLUME 1

In 2006, IDW Publishing launched a collection of high-quality reproductions of the Dick Tracy comic strip as part of their Library of American Comics series. The Complete Dick Tracy Volume 1 features the strips created by Chester Gould that were originally published in newspapers from October 12, 1931, to May 20, 1933. This volume introduces the original main characters, including Dick Tracy, Tess Trueheart, Chief Brandon, Pat Patton, and Junior Tracy, along with several notable villains such as Big Boy, Ribs Mocco, Texie Garcia, Broadway Bates, Stooge Viller, and Steve the Tramp.

The book also includes an introduction by Max Allan Collins and the original sample strips that Gould had produced under the title "Plainclothes Tracy".

In addition to the ongoing storylines, the Sunday strips included in the early portion of the book feature stand-alone adventures unconnected to the daily strips. These often had a humorous element, such as Pat Patton suffering some indignity or one of Big Boy's gang being easily foiled and captured. Out Of Print. Condition: Very Fine/As New.
