The title of this is kind of a misnomer. what this is, is the wildest Superman family stories from July 1960 to October 1961: Learn what it is REALLY like to be the girlfriend, pal, boss, or pet of the Man of Steel! Includes an imaginary story of Lois married to Superman; Krypto's puppy love; Streaky the Supercat; Jimmy Olsen as "The Giant Turtle Man" and much more from  six different titles and  30 wild issues from the heyday Action, Adventure, Superman, Superboy, Superman's Girlfriend Lois Lane and Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen issues. Editor Mort Weisinger was instrumental in expanding the Superman universe to include six entire titles, all of which were doing very well back in these days. Jimmy Olsen was the wacky adventures; Lois Lane presented both adventure and a little romance; Adventure Comics and Superboy Comics explored the earliest days of Superman as Superboy; Action Comics and Superman Comics remained the headline titles, with appearances by Supergirl and the other super characters. They are all surprisingly fun to read even today; this is some of the best work from DC at the time, presenting offbeat attention-grabbing covers and imaginary stories that comic fans could not resist when found on the local spinner rack... Amazingly enough, Superman's co-creator Jerry Siegel was back working at DC and penned a good many of these stories. Also here is the superlative writer of the 1940s Captain Marvel adventures and the creator of Mary Marvel, Otto Binder. Binder was also a regular contributor at DC during this interesting time. Artists Curt Swan and Kurt Schaffenberger are all over this collection and they set the standard for the best in Superman family artwork. Curt was THE Superman artist at this time, while the smooth line work and beautiful ladies of Schaffenberger made even a slightly strange title like Lois Lane a must-have for art fans like myself. - Bud Collects stories originally published in Superman's Girl Friend, Lois Lane #19-28, Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #47-56, Superboy #87, 90, 92, Adventure Comics #287, Action Comics #266 and #277, and Superman #142-143 and #147, 1960-61.
