We have the Ghost Rider, from 1950s comic books through his incarnation on the cinema screen! There are skulls aplenty on iconic pulp covers, Martin Goodman’s rare Atlas-era sleaze digests, and horror comics from the pre-Code era including the all-skeleton covers of Dark Mysteries by Hy Fleishman. “Toys from the Crypt” examines Walt Disney’s skeletons from the 1930s and 40s cartoons, vintage Pirates of the Caribbean models of the 1970s, plus Last Gasp’s primo underground comic, Skull Comics, and the films of William Castle.
