Description
Front Page is a Pre-Code anthology from Harvey that contains the origin and first appearance of the Man in Black. This was the only issue of the series. Prize Mystery had stories with an added cash incentive for the lucky 1950s reader solving a murder mystery. Man in Black was the infamous Harvey title with gorgeous art by Bob Powell. This faceless occult avenger tells strange stories, sometimes intervening in person, other times merely letting ironic fate unfold. An offbeat and fun collection of horror and mystery stories, from before and after the comics code. Man in Black is one of the high points of the 1950s, an excellent series that showed creators could still do great stories even with the comics code breathing down their necks. With additonal work by Steve Ditko, The Iger Shop, Ed Smalle, David Gantz and Ben Brown. Reproduced completely from cover to cover as they should be -- just like the original comics.
