Published by Holyoke Publishing in early 1942, this is a shining example of the best of the Golden Age. The series featured the superhero Cat-Man, created by writer and artist Charles M. Quinlan. Today this is a key GA title and issues are snapped up for big bucks. Cat-Man is solo here, Kitten has not yet joined him. A typical anthology title, back up features include the heroes Rag Man, Blaze Baylor, superhero Dr. Diamond, Lucky Landers, Hurricane Harrigan (also by Quinlan), The Deacon (a prison warden!), Lance Rand with an escaped ape story, Devil Dogs (U.S. pilots), and superhero Pied Piper! Cat-Man, secret identity David Merryweather, continues his crime-fighting adventures. Raised by a tigress in Burma after his parents were killed, Cat-Man gains enhanced abilities and senses akin to those of a cat. He returns to America to fight crime, donning a costume inspired by his jungle upbringing.
