Description

Captain Video was one of the very first science fiction programs in the early days of television...a long, successful run from 1949 to 1955. It was so hot, Fawcett, the publisher of Captain Marvel, jumped in and put their best talent on an excellent comics series, each featuring a photo cover from the TV show, with outstanding artwork by top EC artist George Evans. Today these are very tough comics to find and expensive when you do; great early space opera! Here is the complete run, six full issues which featured long, satisfying stories, from 12 to a full-issue 21-pages! Evans penciled and inked some himself, and on most of the others Martin Thall provided inking. Stories include The Time When Men Could Not Walk, The Island of Conquerors, The Missiles of Doom, The Indestructible Antagonist, and School for Spies. Martin Heath Lantz and Roy Thomas provide a wonderfully illustrated 12-page foreword, which looks closely at the show, its stories and stars, interviews one of the original writers, and talks about the writers and artists. Even Al Williamson is given credit with helping his friend George Evans out here! We have just a limited quantity of these, a one-time buy at this special price.
