Description

One of only three book collections of this classic adventure strip by French cartoonist, Noel Sickles. It features four stories and large, sharp reproductions. Covers the same period as the Nostalgia Press volumes. Sickles left an indelible mark and remains without doubt the man who has most influenced the style of comics in such a short time. Taking over, in 1934, as a true "soldier of fortune", going from "Revolution" to the rescue of "Partners in Danger". In two and a half years, with his assistant, Milton Caniff, he created the most striking style of graphic adventure narration. Revolution- 1935, L'Amour et la Guerre-1935, L'Or de La Fargue- 1935-1936 and New York N.Y. -1936. Sickles left Scorchy and comics in 1936 to devote himself to illustration that was less bound by the imperative deadlines of the daily strip. French Text Out Of Print. Condition: Good. Bumped corners. Lightly soiled, with corner bottom spine tear & tiny tears at the other corners. The back has a top tear at edge that had tape on it. Tape residue.
