Reed Crandall is at his prime here, with all the covers and nearly all the stories. Chop Chop stars in the backup feature by Paul Gustafson. Outrageous war weapons are the order of the day, with the iconic War Wheel just the beginning. We also have the lovely "Spider of Delanza," King Cobra returns, Armored Men, Termite Tanks, Slavery in Siberia, "The Red Tomorrow" and the sci-fi tale, "Beachhead on Asteroid X." These are the wild high flying, two-fisted stories that made Blackhawk a bestseller in the 1950s and one of the very, very few hero comics to make it from the Golden Age all the way into the Silver Age without a break. First published by Quality Comics, when that company went out of business they sold all titles and characters to DC, including Plastic Man, Dollman, and the popular war title, G.I. Combat. With Blackhawk #108, in 1957, DC took over and continued it without interruption into the 1970s.
