Description
Prime time for the team. There were monstrous machine menaces, such as "The Death Digger," "The Flying Flat-Top," "Giant Kites," "Man-Made Title Wave," "The Dreaded Brain Beam," "The Monster Dynamo". Black is"Trapped in the Kremlin," (it's the cold war, after all...lots of commies here). Plus "Twenty-Four Hours to Doom," "The End of Blackhawk Island," "Sea Monsters of Killer Shark," (a recurring bad guy), "Fang the Merciless" and more, including several lovely but deadly femmes fatales. Each issue has a backup Chop Chop story drawn by the all-star Golden Age artist Paul Gustavson. Paul did the Angel in the first Marvel Mystery Comics in 1940, and worked not only for Timely but also extensively for Quality (The Human Bomb, Crack Western) and several other companies. His polished style is in its prime here.
