ALLEY OOP AND JULIUS CAESAR 1949-1950

As to why these two oversize books are different -- ordinarily, Alley Oop daily and Sunday strips were completely separate and unrelated adventures. But, for reasons we'll never know, for three years (1946, '49, '50) , Sunday strips were integrated directly with the daily story lines, so that they were meant to be read continuously. In 1946 there were ten weeks of integrated Sundays and in 1949/50 there were seventy-eight. More from the publisher: "So I had to make these two books oversize to accommodate the Sunday strips in their correct dimensions. I combined 1949 with 1950 into one book to keep costs down, but I kept 1946 separate because I know I'll want to be able to keep my shelf in chronological order (with 47 and 48 in between 46 and 49 where they belong)."
