And it's superbly drawn by the young Don Heck, who was flexing his artistic muscles in this title from the obscure company, Comic Media. \"Witch Girl\" is another great tale, showing some nice EC influence. Heck often has two stories per issue, along with his covers. Alex Toth was already an influence by then, with artists like Elkin and others.\n\nRudy Palais had now been working in comics for ten years, but here he breaks out of his more conservative mode that he used for titles like \u003cem\u003eCrime Does Not Pay\u003c\/em\u003e. \"Death Kiss\" has a voluptuous lady with fishnet stockings, a strapless dress and curves everywhere, who turns out to be a Frankenstein monster, created by a mad scientist. She's virtually loving men to death. See the scan we've picked out for this one. It's Palais at his very best.\n\nThese publishers figured out their market, and sexy girls were a part of nearly every story. In \"Barren Beach,\" a minimally clad beachcomber, Nola, seduces unwitting men and feeds them to her wolves...after draining them of their blood. The popular Charlton comics artist (Thunderbolt) \u003cstrong\u003ePete Morisi\u003c\/strong\u003e also gets his start here. Morisi was a police officer who moonlighted drawing comics, so his work here shows the gritty side of crime in the city...with a horror twist.\n\n\"The Improved Kiss\" is a tale of Genghis Khan and his barbarian hordes, and one woman, who volunteers to join his harem of sexy, nearly naked beauties, to exact her revenge. Palais delivers another story of a giant snake haunting a man's nightmares. \"China Doll\" features a collector who finds beautiful women and turns them into, well, you can just guess, can't you?
