He tells us of his many battles, the friends he had made along his journey, and of the young native girl who was his constant companion on this strange new world.\n\nDan has generously signed and drawn a wonderful nicely finished pen and ink drawing on the inside cover of each of our copies.\n\nFrom Wikipedia:\n\nDan Parsons started out in comics self-publishing his creator-owned series \u003cem\u003eHarpy\u003c\/em\u003e, which became part of the late-1990s indy comics \"bad girl\" movement. He wrote and penciled \u003cem\u003eHarpy\u003c\/em\u003e as an ongoing comic book series, and, with its increasing visibility, Parsons was hired to pencil and ink another popular \"bad girl\" series called \u003cem\u003eRazor\u003c\/em\u003e (London Night Studios). Parsons illustrated the story \"Luna\" for Avatar Press's \u003cem\u003eThreshold\u003c\/em\u003e #30, which was written by David Quinn (\u003cem\u003eFaust\u003c\/em\u003e). Parsons provided wash tones for Warren Ellis's \u003cem\u003eStrange Kiss\u003c\/em\u003e, as well as the sequel,\u003cem\u003e Stranger Kisses\u003c\/em\u003e. He also penciled, inked, and did cover work for the classic \u003cem\u003eBattlestar Galactica\u003c\/em\u003e comic book series (Millennium Press); all this while still working full time as a scientific researcher at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.\n\nParsons went on to release another creator-owned series: \u003cem\u003eSavage Planet\u003c\/em\u003e, which he describes as a tribute to the EC Comics of the 1950s, honoring the work of Frank Frazetta and Al Williamson. It was at San Diego Comic-Con in 2002, promoting the release of \u003cem\u003eSavage Planet,\u003c\/em\u003e that Parsons met Jan Duursema, the ongoing penciller of \u003cem\u003eStar Wars.\u003c\/em\u003e Recognizing Parsons’ similarity of inking style with Al Williamson, (the original classic Star Wars cartoonist), Duursema recommended Parsons to the Star Wars team over at Dark Horse Comics. He was hired immediately, and worked at Dark Horse as the primary inker on a wide range of \u003cem\u003eStar Wars\u003c\/em\u003e titles, including S\u003cem\u003etar Wars, Legacy, Dawn of the Jedi, Clone Wars, Republic, Rebel Heist\u003c\/em\u003e and more. He continued inking \u003cem\u003eStar Wars\u003c\/em\u003e comic book titles until the end of the Dark Horse era in 2014, (when the Disney Corporation purchased the Star Wars franchise).
