And the cover of #6 is all Schaffenberger, who's far better known for his work in the Silver Age on \u003cem\u003eSuperman \u003c\/em\u003eand \u003cem\u003eSuperman's Girlfriend, Lois Lane!\n\u003c\/em\u003e\n\nThe well known author\u003cstrong\u003e Joseph Millard \u003c\/strong\u003ealso cuts his teeth here with of all things, a text story. Millard joins other authors including Mickey Spillane and Alfred Bester, who got their early career starts in the pages of Golden Age comics.\n\nGus Ricca drawns a good number of these early stories. Virtually unknown today, he was a very competent artist and a cut above so much of the Jack Binder shop work that appeared in Fawcett titles. Ricca went on to do some of the most collectible and strange key comic covers of the pre-code era for \u003cem\u003eScoop, Punch \u003c\/em\u003eand \u003cem\u003eDynamic. \u003c\/em\u003eHe was the art director for publisher Chesler, who did these titles, and Gus had a long career in magazine and newspaper illustration; his work was last seen in these aformentioned early 50s horror titles.\n\nIbis lasted just 6 issues of his own, but as you can see he went on to more appearances in various Fawcett titles.
