Looking at these pages as printed in this book is like looking at the pages fresh from the master's drawing board!\n\nThe stories are printed one art page to the book page, with a live image size of 16 inches x 23 1\/4 inches -- the size that Barks drew almost all his original art at, beginning in December 1943 until he retired in 1966, with only very rare exceptions.\n\nThese pages are printed from proofs which are derived from the 7 x 10 photo negatives taken of the original art between December 1943 and December 1945. Looking at the stories in this book really is like looking at pages of Barks' original art because Barks didn't make many mistakes that needed correction in his art. His main use of white ink was not to correct errors, but to delineate details in black on black images or add pie cuts to the ducks' eyes.\n\n\u003cem\u003eThese are classics, where Barks cut his teeth preparing to create his most famous work on Donald Duck and the crew, to his own creation of Uncle Scrooge. They have the same hilarious elements to be found in the Duck stories; goofy situations, silly characters, wonderful sight gags...Barks was previously working on the Disney shorts (cartoons) and his move into comics was as smooth as glass.
